Originally from Hartsville, Jill began working with children with special needs as a high school student. During summer months she worked at camps for special education students, and believed God was calling her to work with young people with learning differences. Jill received her B.A. degree from Clemson University in Elementary Education, with an emphasis in Learning Disabilities and Emotional Challenges. From the University of South Carolina, she earned the M.Ed. degree in Exceptional Children, primarily in the area of Learning Disabilities.
Jill has taught in several different settings in the Columbia area, including self-contained classes for elementary children with learning disabilities, as well as resource programs on the middle school and elementary levels. She taught gifted and talented 6th and 7th graders in Classical Education in North Carolina for four years. After moving back to SC, she tutored LD students, 1st -9th graders, in Reading Comprehension, Math, and Organizational skills. In addition, Jill taught World Geography and US History to 7th and 8th graders at Ben Lippen Middle School.
Jill is married to Tony, and has two married daughters, and one precious baby grandson! She accepted the position of Director of Hope Christian Academy in January 2010. “It is truly a blessing working with excellent teachers and co-teachers, ministering to these awesome students – academically, emotionally, and spiritually.”
